Promoting new digital nomad destinations in Japan
In October 2025, I joined a promotional team for Kotohira as a freelancer, providing written and photographic content for use on nomadkotohira.com.
This project was part of a collaboration between Alt_ Chiang Mai and Kotori, two coliving initiatives aimed at attracting digital nomads. Its goal is to establish Kotohira as a new destination for online professionals that seek to engage more with local people and their culture as they travel.

Over the course of several weeks, I visited Kotohira, a small but popular destination for domestic tourism in the Kagawa prefecture, to do research and provide a boots-on-the-ground narrative across several blog articles.
I interviewed local business owners and Udon taxi drivers, explored hiking trails, visited shrines and restaurants, and even walked the last five days of the Shikoku Henro, a famous pilgrimage passing by near Kotohira.
These blogs are now posted on nomadkotohira.com, offering a helping hand to travelers looking to leave the beaten path and discover this authentic gem of a destination!
